Help

Answers to what people ask most. Everything here also works on your phone.

Making your first CV

Make an account with your email, or with Google or Apple. EmeraldCV then asks a few questions, one at a time, and builds your CV beside your answers. You can stop at any point: everything you typed is kept, and the dashboard shows what's left to finish.

Already have a CV in another tool that exports JSON Resume? Bring it in from your account page instead.

Editing

Click any line on the page to edit it in the panel beside it, or pick it from the outline. On a phone, tap the page and the editor opens over it. Every change saves a moment after you stop typing; the bar at the top says Saved when it has. Undo and redo are in the bar, and with Ctrl or ⌘ and Z.

A change in your profile shows on every CV made from it. To leave something off one CV only, hide it there; to word it differently for one CV, choose Edit for this CV only.

Fitting on one page

The capsule in the editor's bar says how many pages your CV takes, and when only a few lines spill onto the next page. Open it and choose Fit to one page: EmeraldCV tightens the spacing as little as it can. If it still doesn't fit, it says so; hide or shorten a few lines and try again.

The hiring-system check

From the download menu, Check for hiring systems reads your PDF the two ways parsers do and runs seven checks on what comes through. On the free plan you see whether each check passes; Pro shows what each one found, takes you to the fix, and can make an ATS-safe copy of your CV. It's an estimate: no hiring system publishes how it reads.

Designs and Pro

Every design can be tried with your own CV, as often as you like, and switching keeps every word. The Emerald design downloads free; the others, more CVs and profiles, and the full hiring report come with Pro. See Pricing.

Bought a weekly plan? Manage your card or cancel from the Pro page in your account. If Pro ends, nothing you made is locked.

Your account

Forgot your password? Sign in with a code instead, or reset it from the sign-in page. Your account page shows where you're signed in, lets you sign other devices out, and connects Google or Apple. Download or delete everything from the same page; see Your data.

Something wrong?

A contact address for questions is on its way; until it is, use the account page to download or delete your data.
